If you are not familiar with Jon Gordon, you totally should be! "He is the author of The Wall Street Journal bestseller The Energy Bus, The No Complaining Rule, Training Camp, The Shark and The Goldfish, Soup, The Seed and his latest The Positive Dog." The best way I can describe him is that he is an advocate for good feelings, positive energy, positive thoughts and ways to live the best life possible regardless of the situation you are in right now.
Today I saw his post 5 Ways to Stay Positive When Others Are Not and it really spoke to me. The best thing he said in this post in my opinion was "Your Positive Energy Must Be Greater than All of the Negativity". In our daily lives we will come into contact with many people and with that many emotions. If we were to let ourselves get drawn into the emotions of others then we could subject ourselves to being on an emotional roller coaster with ups and downs and be left feeling dizzy or worse.
No matter what emotions you come into contact with, you must do everything in your power to keep a positive energy and positive emotions about you. Why? Because according to the Law of Attraction "like attracts like" and getting down will only bring you more reasons to be down. Stay positive and more reasons to be up will come to you.
How can you accomplish though? When I hear or experience something sad some of the things I'll do to crank up the happy are to turn on the radio to an upbeat tune, go online and look for silly pictures or just sit and think about what I'm thankful for in my life.
What do you do to pump yourself up when everyone around you seems to be down?
