I found THIS article on the Yahoo! homepage today. The article 12 Myths About Happiness, Debunked! mentioned two myths that really hit home for me:
Myth #3: Happiness is based on external circumstances and Myth #4: You can't buy happiness
For me the reason that this really got to me is for a while I've been way to obsessed with finding happiness externally instead of within myself and with buying happiness even though it simply can't be done.
I have to find my happiness regardless of my financial circumstance. Although it is sometimes hard to remember that when struggling to pay your bills at the end of the month, the truth is even the months I have been able to pay everything on time I still want more. No matter what, I'll always want more. It's just the way it is. So, I have to choose to be happy regardless of what is going on in my life.
